IGN reveals full Rock Band 3 song list

Rock Band 3The buzz about the Rock Band 3 song list has been in the air for months. Well the waiting is over. IGN recently got their hands on the full Rock Band 3 set list. Unfortunately for those of us who want to rock, half of the set looks like it came from an East Listening Band 3.

I started as a Guitar Hero addict but have morphed over the last two years to a Rock Band guy. As someone who prefers to play guitar or bass, the guitar in Rock Band is honestly not as fun as GH. But, the Rock Band DLC has blown Guitar Hero out of the water with tons of metal and classic rock that are a lot of fun to play. That said, there is still plenty of hope that the DLC will continue and disappointed Rock Band fans like me will have the chance to still download songs more appealing to my tastes.

The new Rock Band is going to be much different than any of these music video games. The big difference is that gamers will have the chance to connect real instruments to the game in Pro Mode. The upgraded Rock Band 3 guitar will allow gamers to learn how to play guitar through the game. In addition to learning instruments, other Rock Band 3 features include multiple singing and a keyboard.

It does look like a fun track listing and there are some cool songs in the set. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will counter Rock Band 3 this season. Guitar Hero will take a different tact and go back to its roots with heavier music catering to hard rock and heavy metal fans who ate up the first three games and Guitar Hero: Metallica.

The Rock Band 3 release date is October 26.
