Bret Hart had his say now Hulk Hogan has his. Bret recently made comments about Hogan and Eric Bischoff being worthless to TNA Wrestling. Hogan has finally responded and fires another shot in wrestling’s greatest and most annoying verbal feud.
“Knowledge and insights has a lot to do with how precise your answers are. He knows just a little bit about a whole lot of things and not a whole lot about many things. One of the things he doesn’t know a whole lot about is what it takes to make a decision. All the sudden you’re trying to do a program with someone like Bully Ray and you’re right in the middle of his program and the contract runs out and you can’t get an answer as to whether he is going to be signed tomorrow or not. Then you need to know what to do and all of the sudden you don’t know if Eric Young’s going to be there. There is more to it than just building. If there were no worries mate you know and there were no other agendas it’d be real easy to sit down and write and make the stories much easier.”
Hogan goes on to say that there are other issues such as guys promised time off, or guys promised a limited number of dates, etc and that it is hard to sit down and build long term storylines when you have to honor those time constraints. Hogan says it is easy to be a backseat driver but until you sit in his shoes you shouldn’t criticize.
I will say this about Hogan. I was involved in independent wrestling for about a decade, nowhere near the level of what these guys are working with. But I remember many times that fans would criticize an angle or finish on a show not knowing that there were reasons outside of the storyline for that such as guys missing future shows, money issues, refusing to work with someone, etc, etc. That said, I can’t imagine that this is the case with everyone in TNA.
What is interesting to me about this response is that he never addresses Bret personally. He addresses the criticism itself but not the person saying this. You can say what you want about Hogan and he certainly has his critics but he has shown a lot more class lately in responding to Bret’s verbal attacks than Bret has throughout this whole thing.
Hogan also talks about Triple H, CM Punk, The Rock, and Vince McMahon. Hogan thinks the WWE should turn The Rock heel and makes an interesting case for it. I don’t see that happening soon but he does have some points.
