Looking at the Heyman/Lesnar-CM Punk WWE story

June 25, 2013 By: Category: WWE | Pro Wrestling

On last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Stephanie McMahon came out and announced the seven men that would take part in a Money in the Bank ladder match for a title opportunity at the WWE Championship. The announced competitors are CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Christian, Kane and Rob Van Dam.

Two names from that list interest me: CM Punk and Rob Van Dam.

I don’t know how you feel but to me the match has to end with a ‘Paul Heyman Guy’, but which one? We all know RVD is a ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ but we don’t know if the two will coincide with each other at the Pay-Per-View. If it was up to me to book this match, here is how I would want it to play out.

The pinnacle of the story would be a screwjob. Being the evil, manipulative mastermind he is, it’s only fitting that Paul Heyman would be at the center of it all. For the next three weeks on Raw continue the story of the broken-relationship between Paul Heyman and CM Punk. We all know deep down they are friends but nothing more. At least, that’s how it looks.

As the weeks go on, more and more it looks like the relationship between CM Punk and Paul Heyman has broken down. When it comes time for the Pay-Per-View, things will get interesting because more and more we will expect Heyman to scrutinize Punk at the Pay-Per-View.

I think something unexpected should happen. As of now, it’s looking like Paul Heyman will screw over the best in the world. I think we can just sense that happening because of the relationship between Heyman and Brock Lesnar and what has happened between Lesnar and Punk on TV. Or maybe Brock himself would screw over RVD. I think everyone is expecting Brock or Heyman to screw over Punk. That’s exactly why things should lead to a different direction.

Therefore WWE should capitalize on fans expectations and create shock value. Afterall, that’s when pro wrestling is at its best. Remember CM Punk’s pipebomb promo and Mark Henry’s retirement angle? Both were completely unexpected which inadvertently made the programming extremely intriguing to watch.

I think the best way to create shock value at the Pay-Per-View is to have Paul Heyman or Lesnar to screw RVD just as he is just about the clinch the briefcase. I don’t think many people are expecting it and it would be a cool angle. It could have been the plan all along and Brock Lesnar attacking Punk was just a set-up and a part of the plan by Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman is a ‘genius’ after all.

It could end with Punk taking advantage of Heyman or Lesnar screwing RVD and Punk taking advantage. Why would Lesnar help? He’s a Paul Heyman guy and I don’t think the WWE title means anything to his character. Lesnar respects Heyman so that’s reasoning enough to help the best in the world.

Paul Heyman, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar have swerved the WWE universe!

Is all of this for one thing? The thing CM Punk desires most in the world; The WWE Championship. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think.
